About Hope
We are very sad to be retiring our beautiful Hope at 5 years of age. Hope is an absolute sweetheart. She’s calm, laid back, very dependent and easy going. She’s not hyper or high energy. She’s not a dog that’s pushy, stubborn or hard-headed. She’s sensitive and sweet. She’s always been a pup that loves love more than anything. She is being retired early because in her last eye test she was found to have an incipient nuclear cataract. We test each of our adults multiple times and Hope has never had any sort of cataract ever before. This was found very early and is very small (incipient). We have all the paperwork and the opthamologist just recommends getting it checked out yearly and maybe when she gets old she may need it removed or it may never get any worse. She comes from incredible lines and generations of eye tested dogs with no problems so we don’t expect her to have any issues when she’s older. We did decide though to go ahead and retire her just in case. She has been spayed and is ready to go as soon as a good family is able to take her.
Hope has been professional trained again over the last 2 months to freshen up on everything. She’s fully potty trained and has no problems with digging, chewing, jumping, being destructive, submissive urination, pulling on a leash, or any other common problem with Goldens. Her only weakness is that she has never been extremely confident and kinda slumps when she’s being submissive. It’s just a personality thing and something she’s always done since we got her.
Hope has the highest health clearances possible with perfect hips (BVA/OFA Excellent), elbows (BVA 0:0), eyes and heart. This is extremely rare, especially for a Golden Retriever. According to the OFA (Click HERE to see Study), over 127,268 different Golden Retrievers hips x-rays have been submitted and only 4% of Golden Retrievers score an “Excellent” rating. Anything below a BVA 4:4 is an “Excellent” hip rating which means Hope is in the top 4% of all Golden Retriever scores.
