Melbourne is a very special girl in our program and one of our true “great-granddogs.” We proudly bred her mother, Sydney, as well as her grandmother, making Melbourne our first third-generation Recherche Golden Retriever. With each generation, we carefully select for health, temperament, structure, and beauty, and Melbourne is a wonderful example of that commitment. She comes from an exceptional pedigree filled with generations of health-tested dogs and champion bloodlines.

Melbourne’s personality is nothing short of amazing. Her Recherche Score is 9:5:6, meaning she is highly people-oriented, balanced in her energy level, and naturally confident. She is one of the most affectionate dogs we have ever raised and would happily spend all day by your side. Melbourne is always the first to seek out attention and the last to leave, making her an ideal companion for someone looking for a deeply devoted family member.

In addition to her loving nature, Melbourne is remarkably mature, calm, and easygoing. She has a relaxed temperament without being lazy and enjoys both quiet cuddle time and everyday family activities. Her gentle, affectionate personality makes her a joy to live with.

Melbourne is also stunning in appearance. She has a beautiful light cream coat, a large blocky head, and excellent overall structure. At 59 pounds, she is the perfect size—substantial enough to have the classic Golden Retriever presence while remaining manageable and athletic.

To complement her outstanding temperament and pedigree, Melbourne earned a BVA hip score of 6:5, placing her among the top 20% of Golden Retrievers and equivalent to an OFA Good rating. This reflects the generations of careful health testing and selective breeding behind her lineage.
