They’re Trying to Understand You
One of the most common explanations is that your Golden Retriever is trying to make sense of what you’re saying. Dogs don’t understand human language in quite the same way we do, but they can learn to recognize words, tone, facial expressions, and patterns.
So when you say something unusual—or a word that catches their attention—they may tilt their head while trying to figure out what you’re communicating. Try saying:
